Hey there…just to let everyone know, not only will I be leaving “Bye Bye Birdie” on January 24th…but they will in fact be closing the show. Bye bye “birdie”…!! All of the kids were sad, but I think that had more to do with having to go back to school! School is good, I say. Ya don’t want to be a dumb-ass actor!!! That’s my thought for the day.

hey there campers!!
Its been awhile….hope everyone who reads this is doing great….happy and having loads of fun!!
I’ve been away in Toronto shooting a nutty mini-series called “Everything She Ever Wanted”, a true story based on a book written by Anne Rule, about a sociopathic woman named Pat …….she was obsessed with Scarlett O’Hara, and would do anything (including poisoning her family and others) to buy and keep her “tara” plantation……people do the darndest things……it should be airing on the lifetime channel toward the end of august 2009…stay tuned….. here are a few pictures …take care til next time……..xoxx gina
1. me and victor garber who plays my father in law…….hes very cool
2. me and ryan on our “weddding day dressed like scarlett o hara and rhett butler…..
3. me on my horse “whitey”
Hey everyone
How’s it going? Its been a while since we last spoke , and now that the specks of my ever dusty life has settled, I’m back to say hello.
I’m in toronto at the moment filming a miniseries based on a true story called “everything she ever wanted”. I’m playing a southern woman, who basically wanted her life to be like scarlett o’ hara’s and would do anything to get her “tara”. This included everything from poisoning her husbands grandparents (afer his own parents had been murdered), going to prison for attempted murder (after her husband who had been “set up” went to jail), to impersonating a nurse and poisoning another couple and attempting murder once again. Its amazing how some people live their lives or what they actually do in the privacy of their own little world. This was one nutty southern family. It should be interesting playing this woman……
Also, rumour has it that I’ll be playing “Rosie” in the first revival of BYE Bye Birdie on broadway since 1961. (Chita Rivera played Rosie then…yikes..better get out my dancing shoes …..that’ll be in the fall.
That’s the word for now. Hope everything is groovy in your world.
Peace.

I’m finishing up a kids record (yes you heard that right) with leroy powell…..its really fun. Can’t wait for you to hear it. I will keep you informed. This coming monday night february 9th I’ll be performing for broadway backwards benefit… I’ll let you know how it goes….until then…hang in there and try to have fun.

Gina’s posted a brand new song on her MySpace page titled “That Perfect Day”. Here’s a little background about the song from Gina…
“Here’s a song that I took off the album at the last second for reasons that I can’t remember now. It was written on the spot in Linda Perry’s studio, a few years before I started recording “cleo”. The musicians were just playing around and I was thinking about my great friend ted demme who had just died, and about how much I missed him, and this is what came out. Written and sang on the spot. Later on when I wanted to work on it ( I was so emotional my vocals are a bit raw at times which is a polite way of saying “off”). But the files were lost. Couldn’t find them anywhere!! A few people said that I couldn’t recreate it….I tried. They were right. But I did change the end with my band from the record. We mixed it the best we could. I still love it and it still makes me sad.”
hello everyone…
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
i just got back from egypt, i thought a little cruise down the nile would be interesting, and indeed it was. it was a good feeling that wherever i went, when people figured out that i was american, they got a big smile on their face, and would say” Obama!!!”
i hope everyone had a fun and restful holiday……it really seems like a good time to sit back and reflect on this past year……..and then to forget about it, its gone!! heres to the future. it seems really important not to get all caught up in the “fear” that the world seems to be suffocating in at times right now. try to stay positive, focus on what it is you really want, and go for it.i wish you all lots of love and laughs in 2009. and always remember…..don’t let the bastards get you down!!
